She was born in 1976 in Ankara. She started her photography work in 1992 and participated in various group and solo exhibitions at home and abroad. She shot her first short film, “On the Shore,” in 1998. The film was selected for the main competition section of the Cannes Film Festival and received awards in various national and international festivals. She graduated from Marmara University G.S.F Cinema-TV department in 2001. From 2001-2004, she studied at Mimar Sinan University G.S.F Cinema-TV department. In addition, she has written for various literary and art magazines. Having worked as a screenwriter, art director, and actor in many films of director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, she continues to work on film, photography, and writing.
