Between Fear and Love

Between Fear and Love (Italy), Antonio Genovese, 15’

Two childhood friends struggling to find their way in this world. They have one last night to confront each other and say goodbye.

Beyaz (White)

Ali is a cafe owner and responsible individual who is based in North London, where lots of individual and gang crime take place.


Bridge (Iran), Vahid Hassanzadeh, 14’50’’

Roya, an urban girl who had failed in a relationship with her boss, get out of her boss’s car on a bridge. An old man who notice her, assumes that she wants to kill herself. When the old man is gone, Roya decides to pretend a suicide to gets attention of people whom she knows, but no one cares. Until a young laborer buy changes her point of view towards life


Burned (Iran), Fateme Mohammadi, 14’

Every night, when Hafeez hears the sound of gunfire at the border and goes there to take away the belongings of the immigrants’ corpses to make a living. One night, between the corpses, he notices a young girl and her child who are hiding in a corner …


Burhan (Turkey), Ömer Dişbudak, 10’

Burhan and Emin, who have been friends since high school, have been working at a factory as security guards. One night when they were listening to radio, the announcer mentions the birthday of a celebrity and Burhan says that his birthday has never been celebrated. After getting upset over this incident, Emin decides to make his friend happy by celebrating his birthday with a cake.

Dileklerin Cudisi (Cudi of The Wishes )

Dileklerin Cudisi (Turkey), Semiha Yıldız, 6’30’’

Cudi of the Wishes (Cudiye Miradan) treats the natural flow of four seasons in Cudi and the fallouts of conflicts that interrupt this flow by pivoting on a feeling from a childhood memory and images. It is an attempt at reconstructing the name of the mountain – home to a wide range of flowers, goats, and honeybees that is believed to be the grantor of wishes – from within that geography in contrast to what outsiders have been attempting to do for decades.

Death Locked Out

Death Locked Out (Iran), Amir Karami, 18’59’’

A rural, young girl, as a nurse, enters the house of an old army man, who is dying. After a long time, the old man’s instinctive feeling is aroused by the presence of a young girl so that both of them face an unpredictable relationship.

Feeling Through

Feeling Through (ABD), Doug Roland, 19’

A late-night encounter on a New York City street leads to a profound connection between a teen-in-need and a DeafBlind man.


Firefly (France), Lucie Pagès, 19’59’’

Faustine is a young woman without ties, who is on the road. As winter approaches, she finds herself without any money in a country village. Helpless, she decides to spend the winter in a house without the knowledge of its owner, a lonely blind man.


Emergency (Iran), Maryam Esmikhani, 15’

Nazanin is a seven years old girl, who is trying to reveal a secret that bothers her by getting close to the emergency agent who has come to their house to check on her mother.

Hasat (The Harvest)

Hasat (Turkey), Ömer Faruk Yardımcı, 18’12’’

Mahmut is an old man who lives in a village of Niğde and whose only means of living is his garden. However, now, he is too old to cultivate it. Mahmut’s only relative, his son Rıza, is in prison for a crime he did not commit. Mahmut desperately writes a letter to his son and explains the situation. Rıza, feeling very upset that he can’t do anything under the circumstances, takes advantage of the alleged crime and prepares a clever plan to help his father.


Help3 (France), Janek Tarkowski, 15’

In a near future, Nicolas, a pensioner fond of his independence, loses his autonomy following a heart attack. This results in his son, Gabriel, imposing on him a robot to assist him in his daily life. But Gabriel may have taken a thoughtless decision…

Gas Station

Gas Station (Italy), Olga Torrico, 9’59”

Alice works at a gas station. She doesn’t play anymore and she buried her fire for music deep inside. On a sultry summer day, her old music teacher shows up. And Alice starts wondering if she has stayed without her fuel for too long.

Joy's Garden

Joy's Garden (Kenya), Ngwatilo Mawiyoo,13’29’’

Edwin abruptly goes from absent baby daddy to sole caregiver of Joy, his seven-year-old daughter when her mom passes away. Can Edwin find it in himself to give Joy the home she needs?


Lal (Turkey), Gökalp Gönen, 14’30’’

Born from a word out of nothing, the creature must eat one of its own to survive. This word which the creature has managed to pronounce brings him friends, enemies, and new prey, although it’s difficult to maintain the balance. A big fight is inevitable and it will take a long time to get back to the beginning.


Nina (Bulgaria), Hristo Simeonov, 19’

A 13-year-old Nina is feeling trapped in her relation with the bossy Vassil, who is preparing her to be a skilled pickpocket in Spain. There are days when she is almost ready to run away from him.

The Bathtub

The Bathtub (Spain), Sergi Marti, 19’15’’

Ramon Riera is taking a well-deserved bath when his cell phone suddenly rings. On the other side of the line is Clara, a girl who insistently tries to sell him a life insurance.

Two Options

Two Options (France-Spain), Gon Caride, 9’39’’

In the country of Freedom, Equality and Fraternity, in this new Europe without borders, besieged by fear and intolerance, a Polish immigrant will have to face the reality of racism.

TWO OPTIONS was written, shot and edited in just five days at an International Filmmakers Laboratory in France.

White Clad

A grandma gives Ahmad, a ten year old boy, a cake of cheese , so that he can give it to his father, who is a teacher. His father should intervene and stop them from hanging grandma’s son.

Breath (Spain), Daniel Ortiz Entrambasaguas, 14’

Tarik has just been admitted to the hospital, perhaps it is something more serious than he imagined but the meeting with Martin, his roommate will make their lives change completely.


Closed To The Light

Closed To The Light (Italy), Nicola Piovesan, 10’

The film freezes in time the terrible tragedy of an execution that took place in Italy in the summer of 1944, to the detriment of innocent peasants. An articulated long shot in which everything is still and everything changes.




Dajla: Cinema and Oblivion

Dajla: Cinema and Oblivion (Spain), Arturo Duenas, 15’

Life is going on in Dakhla, one of the Sahrawi refugee camps in southern Algeria, forgotten for 45 years. A film festival, the Fisahara, breaks the monotony. The event ends, life (and oblivion) continues.

In a southern region of Iran, a girl has been lost. Her brother and her sister in law are looking for her, but there is a mystery behind this.



Koçber (Immigrant)

Koçber (Turkey), Murat Kılıç, 29’32’’

Suleyman Omar is the head of a Syrian immigrant family. He is not deterred by the difficulties of immigration or old age. He earns a living for his family as a peddler in the suburbs. He struggles to support a virtuous society. A life without struggle is to die while living. Life gains meaning when you struggle.


Long Sunset

Long Sunset (Iran), Sabah Mohammadi, 5’54’’

Sama leaves the cow alone to close the crop. When he returns, he notices the presence of a cow in the mining area; He tries to take the cow out and bring it back home safe, but he does not succeed. Forces Sama to enter the minefield; He enters the area and his foot is placed on one of the mines and is destroyed.




Martians (Spain), David Del Aguila, 15’

April 2020. Patricia goes like every day to her job as a nurse. Carmelo, positive in Covid, wakes up surrounded by Martians.



Paper Boat

Paper Boat (Italy), Luca Esposito, 7’17’’

During a lesson, a young middle school teacher carries out an experiment with a paper boat. When he reveals that the boat symbolizes the boats of immigrants, the class relives the memory of the victims who were shipwrecked on April 18, 2015 in the Strait of Sicily.

Poor People

Poor People (Russia), Lolita Naranovich, 15’

While a storm rages, Vera prays for her husband, a fisherman who is at sea, and five hungry children who sleep next to her. The fisherman nearly drowns. Vera visits a neighbor who has two small children and finds her dead.





Sürgünde Bir Yıl (A Year in Exile)

Sürgünde Bir Yıl (Turkey– Syria), Malaz Usta, 19’

 An immigrant’s first year in a metropolitan city outside his small country. Through a collection of moving images and sounds the film exhibits what he faces, the pictures that he sees, the crowded thoughts in his head, and the state of emotional shock that he lives throughout the year.



Ukoy (Kyrgyzstan), Aman Azhymat, 22’

The grandmother of 16-year-old Ukoy, whose parents work as migrants in Russia, gives her in marriage to a guy against her will after she became pregnant. Ukoy thinks that all the difficulties are happening in her sleep, so she tries to wake up.

Go! Captain

Go! Captain (France), Pierre-Loup Docteur, 20’

Laura and her son Max, a mature and lonely teenager, have found it difficult to understand each other since
they moved. When Max crosses paths with Jo, a clumsy adventurer in an old-fashioned diving suit, it’s a
chance for him to escape his daily routine for a brief moment.

Anatolian farmer Mahmut Tığrel who works for creating a sustainable alternative for industrial agriculture with his unique sales model and local seeds that he preserves, never gives up his hassle in spite of limited production possibilities.

Kuş Bakışı (Bird’s Eye View)

Kuş Bakışı (Turkey), Merve Özen, 6’57’’

The entire story is told through the eyes of a budgerigar (parakeet)  with a subjective camera angle. The purchased budgerigar is brought to the family where it will live in a dark box. The family cares about the animal. One day, as a result of a little carelessness, the bird escapes out the window. Being free in nature for the first time, the bird witnesses different human profiles. It lands on the window sill of another family, the family catches the bird. The bird continues its life in another cage, under the care of another family.

At the age of 60,  unsocial Nazım confronts his loneliness after enjoying the cake left on his door by  Züleyha, who has never lost her childlike energy at the age of 55. But he has to make a choice!


Snails (Bulgaria), Albena Puneva, 25’

Minko, a radio journalist, is in his native village to see his mother. Unexpectedly, the ulcer is sick. This is not enough, well, early in the morning, the loudspeaker, who is transmitting the services at the mosque five times a day, wakes him up.

Street Poet

Street Poet (Kazakhistan), Samgar Rakym, 29’21’’

Tanjaryq is a traditional national poet. He hopes that the national culture will continue to be passed onto the next generation of Kazakhs. He wants to train more young people to inherit the national identity, but he can’t find pupils. One day he discovers that his son is a rapper. He realizes that rap and national poetry have a lot of similarities, so he decides to train his son to succeed him. But Tanjaryq’s plan doesn’t quite work out…

A little boy’s search for meaning, who is convinced that he will burn in hellfire for touching a dog.

The Kites

The Kites (Iran), Seyed Payam Hosseini, 14’

In the story of the kite short film it is stated that: A Border boy quietly falls in love with a girl who lives across the border. He tries to reach out to the girl through the missing girl’s kite on the other side of the border.

The Station

The Station (Kosovo), Leart Rama, 11’9’’

High mountains on both sides of it and a small boat in the middle that destroys the silence in this small hidden and forgotten part of Earth. Something starts to move.

Yeryüzü (Earth)

A man and a woman are cooped up in different rooms with a locked door between them. Do you think they will be able to find a way out?

Al-Sit (Sudan), Suzannah Mirghani, 20’

In a cotton-farming village in Sudan, 15-year-old Nafisa has a crush on Babiker, but her parents have arranged her marriage to Nadir, a young Sudanese businessman living abroad. Nafisa’s grandmother Al-Sit, the powerful village matriarch, has her own plans for Nafisa’s future. But can Nafisa choose for herself?

Cengiz is an unemployed family man. While the preparations for the play that his children will play during the National Hero Week continues, Cengiz’s behaviors begin to change.

Soon to leave her very British boarding school, Dọlápọ̀ is pressured to conceal her natural hair, and to change her name in order to get a job in the City. Dọlápọ̀ buys a wig, but the hair leaves her questioning its uncertain origins and she is forced to reconsider her own assumptions about identity.

Power of Childhood

Power of Childhood (Russia), Lolita Naranovich, 12’46’’

It is the Russian Revolution of 1905. A crowd that has rebelled against the government is going to execute an officer. His son runs up to him and hugs him, saving the officer’s life. What the child does returns the sense of compassion both to the crowd and the officer.

Sweet Taste of Darkness

Sweet Taste of Darkness (Iran), Mitra Raeesmohammadi, 20’

This is a story of a seven-year-old boy who identifies with the character of Batman. He encourages his friends to cross the stairs and the streets in the dark with their eyes closed and his mother, who is tired and disgusted with her life because they both have a common reason with different approaches and view.

Teşekkürler Süpermen (Turkey), Ozan Sertdemir, 19’47’’

Hayati is a simple supermarket employee. He is constantly pushed around by the customers, his boss and co-workers. One day, when Evren is  about to be hit by a car in front of the market, he saves her life. After that day, Hayati’s life changes. A vital event happens whenever Hayati is around. He suddenly becomes the superhero of the people and  the agenda of the world.

The Departure

The Departure (France-Morocco), Saïd Hamich Benlarbi, 25’

Morocco, 2004. Adil, aged 11, spends the summer playing with his friends and waiting for his idol, Olympic runner Hicham El Guerrouj, to compete in his last Games. The arrival of his father and older brother from France for a few days will mark him forever.

The Vera

Vera (Kosovo), Hana Bucalija, 8’28’’

Kosovo War 1999. A deaf-mute fights to communicate to the driver and passengers that his family is coming, and that the van mustn’t leave without them.


Yara (The Hurt)

Yara (Turkey), Onur Güler, 16’30’’

Doctor Bahar receives a phone call during her son Mert’s birthday celebration and goes to an old man’s house to prepare a death report. Although this task seems like a professional routine for Bahar, it becomes no longer routine with the confession of the man’s daughter-in-law, and leaves Bahar between her conscience and her career.

Three Windows and A Hanging

Three Windows and A Hanging (Kosovo), Isa Qosja, 107’

A woman from a village decides to speak before an international female journalist about the rape during the war. She testifies about what has happened to her and three other women from that village. The men who understand that the woman who has spoken is the village teacher, exert pressure on her and their wives because of the rape and destruction of the village authority due to this event.

Sun Children

Sun Children (Iran), Majid Majidi, 99’

12-year-old Ali and his three friends, together they work hard to survive and support their families. In a turn of events that seems miraculous, Ali is entrusted to find hidden treasure underground.


Meryem (Turkey), Atalay Taşdiken, 95’

‘Innocence belongs to those who wait.’ Meryem, a young woman of 18, has been married for 18 months. But after six days of marriage, her husband left for Istanbul and hasn’t reappeared since. As the days turn into weeks and months, Meryem longs for Mustafa and a settled married life, but she doesn’t give up hope.
