Vedat Özdemir was born in 1974 in Erzurum. In 1995, while continuing his studies, he started to work as a lighting assistant in a film studio. During this period, he worked mainly in commercials and photo shoots. His first movie was “Sen Ne Dilersen,” in which he worked as a gaffer. After that, he also worked in many films, including “Polis/Police (2006)”, “Ara (2007”, “Ses (2009)”, “Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan (2010)” as gaffer. Around the same time, he also wrote short film scripts and directed them. His first short film was “Pardon (2001)”, and after that was “Eceba (2003).” He was also the cinematographer in these shorts. He started his career as the DoP in 2007 with the movie “Nefes Vatan Sağolsun” and worked nearly 40 films until now, including “Acı Aşk”, “Sen Aydınlatırsın Geceyi”, “Ana Yurdu”, “Fakat Müzeyyen”, “Uzun Hikaye”, and “Rauf.”
